This year’s Co. Fleadh Cheoil which is being hosted by the Craobh Coleman C.C.E. Branch, Gurteen will have events running from Tuesday May 27th to Sunday 1st June inclusive.
Tuesday May 27th 9:00pm Bilingual Table Quiz in Teach Murray, Gurteen There will be tables of four competitors with entry fee of €10 and cash prizes of €240.
Wednesday May 28th 8:30pm June McCormack will give a lecture on Peter Horan - His Musical Life and Times’.
A special feature of the Fleadh on Thursday May 29th will be a tribute to the more senior musicians of the Gurteen area and this will be held in Ceoláras Coleman at 9pm.
THE OFFICIAL opening of the Fleadh will take place on Friday May 31st at 8pm and this will be followed by a concert with the Meitheal group performing.
Saturday May 31st 10:30am ALL SOLO COMPETITIONS 3:30pm Street Music 6:00pm Junior Session in Ceoláras Coleman 7:00pm Singing Session will be held in O’Dowd’s Rathmadder Inn. 9:00pm A concert in Ceoláras Coleman will feature the group “Liadán’. 10:00pm The Swallows Tail Ceilí Band will play at a ceilí in Teach Murray
Sunday June 1st 11:30am Aifreann na Fleidhe, St. Patrick’s Church 1:30pm ALL GROUP COMPETITIONS 3:30pm Street Music 5:00pm Ceilí Band Competitions
